'Dogs nip Knights in back-and-forth contest, 19-16
IT’S OFF TO THE RACES as Redbank Valley quarterback Brandon Bain (1) got loose around the right side and outraced the defense down the sidelines for a 44-yard touchdown in the first quarter of Friday’s KSAC matchup with Union.
IT’S OFF TO THE RACES as Redbank Valley quarterback Brandon Bain (1) got loose around the right side and outraced the defense down the sidelines for a 44-yard touchdown in the first quarter of Friday’s KSAC matchup with Union.
NEW BETHLEHEM - Momentum wasn't an easily controlled element as it was constantly darting from one sideline to the other. Three third-quarter touchdowns and three lead changes as the Redbank Valley Bulldogs and Union Golden Knights attempted to tame the wavering beast.
Trailing by two points at the half with only a sniff of momentum, Redbank took its first lead of the game with a touchdown on its opening second-half possession but was soon trailing again as Union countered with a go-ahead, momentum-altering TD of its own. But the Bulldogs had a last answer with one final shift of 'mighty mo', putting up the winning points of the game with just over two minutes left in the third and then holding off the Knights for a 19-16 victory in a KSAC Small School Division matchup.

Bulldog golfers come up short in loss to A-C Valley
NEW BETHLEHEM - With three matches in four days, Redbank Valley won two but the loss could prove damaging as the Bulldogs try to defend their Keystone Shortway Athletic Conference championship. Redbank and the Allegheny-Clarion Valley Falcons have battled for the KSAC title for the last few years so the loss to A-C Valley could prove fatal in the Bulldogs' quest to repeat as conference champs.
Along with the loss to the Falcons, Redbank picked up a win over Clarion-Limestone in a KSAC match and knocked off Brockway in non-conference action for a 4-1 record.
