Clearfield County
Holly F. Komonczi was unopposed for mayor of Curwensville while Charles M. Komonczi and Julie Girardi were elected to two of the three four-year terms on the borough council.
In the Borough of Clearfield, Kathy L. Catherman defeated Robert A. Smith-Walker, 297-96, for the 1st Ward council seat while Fred A. Wisor outpolled Michael J. Errigo, 304-248, for the 2nd Ward seat. Patricia Marie Kavelak and James E. Kling were unopposed for the 3rd and 4th ward council seats, respectively. Wade I. Cowder was unopposed for a two-year council seat from the 4th Ward.
Denny C. Knarr and David A. Yohe received 23 and 18 votes, respectively, for Troutville Borough Council but there were 22 write-in votes that could influence the outcome.They will not be counted until Friday.
In Grampian Borough, William C. Waterloo, Robert L. Russell Sr., Barbara S. McCracken and James W. Carns Jr. were elected to the borough council.
In Huston Township, Larry D. Knisely defeated Darrell J. Patton Jr., 147-87, for a six-year term as supervisor.
In Lawrence Township, Edward E. Brown outdistanced Daniel G. Mitchell Sr., 921-652, for a six-year term as supervisor.
In the Clearfield Area School District, Richard D. Schickling, Mary Anne Wesdock-Jackson, Michael W. Spencer and Jennifer Lynn Wallace were elected to four-year terms as directors.
Voters in the Curwensville Area School District elected Cheryl L. Johsnton, Mary Ann Rafferty and Dale E. Tozer to four-year terms as directors. There were no candidates on the ballot for a fourth four-year seat.
Elk County
In Fox Township, Dave Mattiuz defeated Cheryl A. Ruffner, 516-250, for a six-year supervisor's term.
In Highland Township, Charles M. Vaughn nipped Fred Gezik, 62-52, for a supervisor's post.
In Horton Township, Jeffrey Johnson was unopposed for supervisor.
John Gardner was unopposed for supervisor in Ridgway Township.
In Johnsonburg Borough, David W. Zilkofski was unopposed for mayor while Louis A. Imbrogno, Harriet Stahli, Alfred Aljoe Maletto and Ronald King were elected to four-year terms on the borough council. Finishing fifth was James Depanfilis Jr.
In Ridgway Borough, G. Udarbe was unopposed for mayor, succeeding long-time mayor James Martin. Elected to four-year terms on the borough council were Nina Stolburg, Heather S. Mader, Ralph Dussia and John Casolo Jr. Anthony Santiso and James R. Snyder Jr. were the other candidates.
Dick Dornisch and Daniel T. Hepner were elected to four-year terms on the St. Marys City Council. There were no candidates on the ballot for a third four-year term, but there were 539 write-in votes tallied; the results were not immediately available.
David E. Sallack was unopposed for a four-year term on the Johnsonburg Area School District board of directors from Region I. There were no candidates on the ballot for three other seats, one from Regin II and two from Region III.
Lucy MacDonald Bobby, Lisa M. Connelly, Gloria B. Almquist and William A. Seely were unopposed for four-year terms on the Ridgway Area School Board.
In the St. Marys Area School District, James L. Herzing (742 votes) and James T. Baumgratz were elected to four-year terms from Region I. Baumgratz defeated Francis B. Cheatle, 483-449, for the second seat.
In Region II, John N. Healy was unopposed, and Bryan A. Chiappelli was unopposed in Region III.
Jefferson County
Joseph L. Buterbaugh was elected mayor of Big Run while Nick J. Lantz and John L. Smeal won two of the four four-year terms on the borough council; there were no candidates on the ballot for the other two council seats.
In Brockway Borough, William D. Hrinya was unopposed for mayor. Joe P. Antonuccioi, Floyd Work, Ken Inzana and Rick Renwick were elected to four-year terms on the borough council, outpacing Tammy M. Stansell, who finished fifth, and Brian Buesink was unopposed for a two-year council term.
Brookville Mayor David Chip Wonderling was unopposed for re-election. William Kutz, James B. Sarvey, John M. Blazosky and Karen Allgeier were elected to four-year terms on the borough council while incumbent council President Scott A. Young was defeated for re-election, finishing 142 votes behind fourth-place finisher Allgeier.
Charles Moore was unopposed for Falls Creek mayor. Dennis J. Peck, Darrell A. Kirsch and Gerald V. Bishop won four-year terms on the council. There were no candidates for a fourth council seat.
In Polk Township, Neal G. Davis defeated Charles Farlow, 48-19, or a four-year term as supervisor, James Manno was unopposed for one two-year supervisor's term and John Lee defeated Donald Denny Schulze, 40-29, for a six-year term.
James Patrick Wehrle was unopposed for mayor of Punxsutawney. Elected to the borough council for four-year terms were Michael J. Porada, Larry Chenoga, William H. Spencer and Susan Glessner. Michele P. Lorenzo finished fifth.
Louie "Peach" Caltagarone was unopposed for re-election as mayor of Reynoldsville. Mary Jane Clark and William P. Cebulskie were elected to two of the four four-year terms on the council; there were no candidates for the other two positions but there were 419 write-in votes.
Fred Barefield defeated incubment Snyder Township Supervisor Terry L. Felt, 330-180, and also was unopposed for a two-year supervisor's post.
There were no candidates on the ballot for mayor of Summerville or for any of four four-year terms on the borough council.
In Sykesville, Rick Fike was unopposed for mayor. Donald J. Reid, Gail Cunningham, David Reiter and Karen Pruzinsky were unopposed for four-year terms on the council.
Michael T. McClintick Sr. and Steven R. McClelland were unopposed for six-year terms as supervisors in Washington Township.
In Winslow Township, Edward Mohney nipped Thomas Sprague, 253-236, for a six-year term as supervisor. Eric Wolfgang defeated Diane C. Gresock, 259-237, for tax collector.
In the Brockway Area School District, Renee M. Allenbaugh defeated Amy Lindholm Buesink, 219-130, for a director's seat from Region I while Robert Cherubini and Patricia Antonio Battitori were unopposed for two seats from Region II. There were no candidates for a sseat from Region III.
In the Brookville Area School District, the four seats at stake were won by John R. Mester (1,799 votes), Thomas M. Maloney (1,638), Tom Swab (1,387) and Michael W. Smith (1,376). Trailing were Marjorie Dickey McKnight (892) and Jennifer M. Black (863).
