UAVSL All-Stars announced for big, small schools

KARNS CITY - The Upper Allegheny Valley Soccer League recently released its All-Stars for the 2009 season in both the big and small school divisions, and the Tri-County area was represented on all the All-Star teams.
DuBois swept the MVP awards for the big school divisions as junior Alyssa Sciremammano took home top honor for the girls, while senior Alex Romeo did the same for the boys.
The small schools are broken down into North and South Divisions and on the boys side Brockway senior Mike Britton was named the North MVP, while Karns City senior Eric McCue was the South MVP.
DuBois Central Catholic junior Jordan Meyers was named the girls North MVP, while Karns City senior Millie McKain took home the honor for the South.
Sciremammano was joined on the Big School Girls All-Stars by teammates Meagan Sanko (senior), Kayla Bishop (senior) and Morgan Hanna (junior). Clearfield also had four all-stars in senior Lisa Bumbarger, junior Emily Barger and sophomores B.J. Bowman and Nichole Powers. St. Marys junior Brittany Orr and Punxsutawney's Timi Shiock (junior) and Sierra Milton (sophomore) rounded out the all-star team.
Romeo was one of three Beavers on the Big School boys team as fellow senior Jimmy Westman and junior Phil Pompeii also were honored. Clearfield garnered four all-stars in seniors Ben Johnston, Matt Anderson, Kurt Graham and Chad Zurat.
St. Marys had two selections in juniors Jake Reed and Jonathan Quinn, while Punxsy also had two all-stars in senior Chase Tibbs and sophomore Tyler Presloid.
Britton was joined on the Small School North All-Stars by freshman teammate Philip Esposito. Elk County Catholic also had two selections in senior Josh Brem and junior Dan Steudler.
Port Allegany led the way with three all-stars in seniors Denzel Middleton and Max Parana and junior Ken Kysor. Smethport seniors Levi Lewis and Chris Healy were selected to the team, as was Coudersport junior Alex Renn and Kane sophomore Corey McQuire.
In the Boys Small School South Division, DuBois Central Catholic senior Joe McNally was selected, along with Brookville sophomore Seth Conner and Curwensville senior Derek Brothers. McCue was joined by teammates Ethan McGarvey (junior) and Nick LoPresti (senior), while Redbank Valley had three all-stars in seniors Daniel Buzzard, Justin Radaker and A.J. McCrea.
Clarion-Limestone junior Eric Hesdon and Keystone junior Dylan Ziegler round out the squad.
Meyers was joined on the North Small School all-stars by freshman teammate Aundrea Snyder. Brockway collected two all-stars in senior Michelle Mancuso and sophomore Amanda Lindemuth, while Elk County Catholic also had two all-stars in senior Emily Detsch and sophomore Abbi Petrsoky.
Curwensville's Sara Sidelinger (senior) and Sara Geisler (sophomore) were selected to the squad, as were Ridgway's Amanda Maddalena (sophomore), Kane's Andrea Saquin (junior) and Port Allegany's Kaitlyn Kio (senior).
Brookville had two selections on the girls South Small School All-Stars as senior Jordan Mason and junior Alyssa Byerly were chosen. Clarion senior Skyler Ganoe and sophomore Brianna Nellis were honored, as was Redbank Valley senior Abby Bowser.
McKain's teammate Emily Potchak (senior) was named to the squad, along with Keystone seniors Brittany Caulfield and Amber Reichard and Forest's Geena Sneeringer (senior) and Erica Long (sophomore).
